Why Placing Emphasis On Material Things Will Be Our Downfall.
In a world full of obsession over materialistic things, it's no wonder why we are all so easily distracted. So much emphasis is placed on labels, cars, clothes, mansions, and all of these other disposable things. But what if I told you guys that none of those things even matter "in real life"?
I overheard a person tell someone that "you're vibrating on a lower frequency than me because you don't aspire to live in a castle...and I do. " There are so many inaccuracies in that 1 statement, but I will keep it brief. Just because a person aspires to have material things does not mean that they are more "in tuned" with the universe. It simply means that they are focused on having material things.
The reality of the entire situation is that we are all spiritual beings, and this lifetime is merely one of the many phases that our spirits will go through. This is why it is important to do things that will feed our souls.
A Lesson From a Child
My daughter loves toys, and of course, I buy them for her. But she does not care where they come from, she just likes what she likes. The other day we went thrifting, because I like vintage things. Eliana saw a car for her Barbie dolls that she immediately fell in love with. We purchased the car for her, (which costed 2.99, btw) and she held onto until we got back home. She wanted to show every person she came in contact with her new car.
That's just the way she is....that is the way that I am. If we like something, then we like it. It doesn't matter how much it cost. But why should it? The fact of the matter is that when we have things for a certain period of time, we become bored with them anyway, no matter what the price of it was. It's just human nature. The reason this happens is because these things don't necessarily feed our spirits. They are for entertainment purposes. They feed our egos. They add no value to us when our time is up on this earth. If you spend your life focusing on these things, you probably won't get any closer to finding out your divine purpose. Placing too much emphasis on things that feed our egos will never end well, because our egos can never be viewed in a positive light, nor will they ever be satisfied. So why nurture something like that? That's like trying to nurture a leech. Certain things derive from ego, such as fear, greed, and the constant need for the approval of others.
So what type of things actually feed our souls?
I have come across some things on my journey that have added more value to my life than any material thing that you could possibly think of.
1) Meditation
I've made a promise to myself to meditate for at least 10 minutes everyday before I get out of bed. It gives me clarity, and gives me the opportunity to pay attention to the tone that I am seeing for my day.
2) Reading
There are certain things that I've read that have actually changed my entire life. Some of the most inspiring books that I have read are The Alchemist, The Four Agreements, The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success.
3) Enjoying Nature
There is some interesting awakening that I feel when I go to the beach, listen to the rain, or even go out for a walk.
4) Passion
It seems pretty self explanatory why passion feeds your soul. But it has to be true passion. Your spirit connects with your true passions. When you participate in things you are passionate about, it creates a feeling of true happiness...and that is the goal, right? To obtain true happiness?
The end result should indeed be true happiness. What are some of the things that feed your soul?

I'm crazy about kombucha!
If you follow me on Snapchat, then you probably have noticed that I'm always drinking Kombucha. This fermented tea is my current obsession, and if you tried it for yourself, then you would know why. Here are some of the benefits that I have experienced while drinking this tea:
1) Absolutely no bloating.
I'm really tiny, so not only is it noticeable when I eat something really heavy, but salt is definitely not my friend! Lol. Kombucha literally gets rid of all bloating in a matter of hours.
2) Enhanced mood.
There have been times when I've not been in the best of moods, I drank a Kombucha, and I was the happiest person on the planet.
3) Glowing skin.
4) Great taste!
These drinks come in many different flavors, and they taste like soda to me. A few people have described it to have sort of a "vinegary" taste, but that depends on which brand you buy. Kevita is one of my favorite brands, and the ginger flavored one tastes just like a ginger ale! I buy them for about $3.00 at Publix or Target.
5) Enhanced energy.
This probably has something to do with the caffeine that it contains.
5) It honestly gets you a little tipsy. Lol!
If you're not a heavy drinker, and you drink a Kombucha, I can guarantee that you will feel a little intoxicated.
Try it for yourself, and let me know how it works out for you. :)

Do we look to our agents for everything?
Hey guys! This is a topic that I talk about a lot, and I seriously could not wait to do a blog post about this. I have to say, that all of my bookers at my agency are beyond awesome, but as a model, the most important things to consider are the things that we do for our own careers. Don't get me wrong, having a good agency behind you is not only nice, but it's an essential....The bottom line is that we cannot expect for our agents to do absolutely everything for us and our careers.
Models must view themselves as a brand, rather than just a talent. You have to push yourself, while your agency is pushing you.
I come across so many models who claim that their agents aren't doing enough for them. It seems pretty silly to have so many goals and dreams, put them into someone else's hands, and say "Make it happen". Their entire lives aren't dedicated to accomplishing our goals. They are there to help. Our true success relies on our own, everyday actions.
With all of that being said, I know that it seems nearly impossible to get yourself noticed by huge brands and casting directors, but the internet makes the world a lot smaller. There are so many social media outlets the give models the platform to be seen. It just takes work.
We all have our own dreams and aspirations. Pairing a positive mindset with taking control of our own success will land us right where we need to be.

Coffee and.....bee pollen?
I know that you guys may be wondering why on earth did I completely switch up the blog on you guys. Here is why:
Simply put, we all go through phases in our lives. I absolutely loved writing as "The Model Mom" but I have outgrown that phase in my life. "The Model Mom" was a phase about me learning myself as a wife and a mother, while still trying to stay active in the things that I'm passionate about. It was pretty much an adjustment stage in my life. I really appreciate you guys being a part of that journey with me, but now that I've settled in, I'm past that phase.
"Coffee X Bee Pollen" pretty much is the story of my life. Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm probably addicted to coffee. Lol. Not proud at all. I'm sure everyone knows what coffee is, and the effect that it has on people. But I'm sure that not many of you know what bee pollen is. Bee pollen is literally one of the most amazing superfoods that you could possibly consume. Both of these products have similar effects. They both give you energy...they are both mood enhancers...and they pretty much give you a happier outlook on life when you consume them. I've been told that my presence has this same effect on people, which pretty much sums up the name of my new blog!
Thank you guys for following my blog, and I look forward to sharing so many things with you this year!
My "Must-Have" Flats!
I always receive a million questions about these shoes in particular, so I decided to do a post about them.:)
These stylish, chic flats were made by Nine West, and they are seriously my go-to shoe for any season. They are the perfect shoes to bring with you when you are wearing heels, and there is a possibility that you may want to change out of them. I usually wear these shoes on a date night (because I don't always feel like towering over my husband in heels, lol) or when I'm running around Miami for castings. They pretty much always work. These shoes are so far beyond your conventional ballerina flat, and that is why I say that these are a "must-have" to add to your collection.
